Sapphire Solutions: New Year and New Focus!

Since the beginning, Sapphire Solutions has been an IT Solutions Company.

Sapphire Solutions has been involved in projects all over North America. These projects were for a pretty exclusive Portfolio of Companies and we are proud to have been able to participate. We are equally proud of the effort given by each team member who helped make these projects successful.

Over the years, Sapphire Solutions offered a wide variety of services, such as Analysis, Diagnostics, Installations, Project Roll-outs, Repair, Support and various Web Services. We felt offering clients such a variety of services would make us a “One Stop, IT Shop.” This didn’t work as well as we had planned.

We planned to build a conservative portfolio of companies who used all our services. We ended up with a long list of companies only wanting one service or another. While we have been able to successfully manage all of these small projects, there really isn’t a cost efficient way to continue to do so.

Over the last several months, Sapphire Solutions has encountered a number of obstacles.

The biggest obstacle for us has been (and still is) the poor economic climate. We simply haven’t seen a demand for larger projects with multiple services or complete IT Solutions. The projects we were being asked to complete, just were not as profitable for us as we needed them to be.

A related obstacle is the number of clients who have not renewed their service contracts with us, due to the poor economic climate.

Recently, Sapphire Solutions was forced to stop using a technology sourcing platform, called OnForce. The projects we secured through OnForce brought in enough revenue for at least one technician to earn a living. This issue came out of no where on December 29th and was completely unprovoked.

An ongoing obstacle for us has been the sheer volume of unqualified technicians in our area. Every person with an A+, Network+, DCSE, or MCSE calls themselves a technician. These technicians are all part of what I call “The Pain in the Neck Syndrome.” These “Technicians” work for rates far lower than ours, but do way more harm than good.

With these obstacles and many others, it seemed as if the more obstacles we got over, the more we ran into. Each obstacle causing substantial loss to our revenue streams.

We were able to stop the downward spiral, by taking a harder look at our company operations.

The problem was glaring us in the face.

Sapphire Solutions offered a wide variety of services, but did not have a clear focus.

Sapphire Solutions is A Web Presence Company.

Starting January 1st, 2011, Sapphire Solutions has a clear focus.

In defining our new focus, we didn’t feel small business owners had a complete understanding on how beneficial the internet could be for their business. We felt that even those owners who understand, don’t have time to effectively market their business on the internet. With all the roles small business owners play, who can fault them?

From owner, to manager, to employee, to accountant, to janitor, to plumber; who has time to be actively involved in promoting their business on the internet?

This is where we feel Sapphire Solutions is needed!

As a small business, Sapphire Solutions understands million dollar marketing budgets are simply not feasible. This doesn’t mean a small business should focus any less on their company brand, products and services.

We feel these businesses are the backbone of America. So, as a part of our new focus Sapphire Solutions will provide it’s services to the small businesses of America.

We are fully committed to our new focus. As a part of this commitment, we will no longer actively promote other IT Services we may have offered in the past.

Don’t worry! We aren’t going to leave current clients out in the cold. We will continue to provide all services to existing clients. Other IT Services will be available to new clients, but only after utilizing Sapphire Solutions to build a stronger web presence for their company.

New clients looking for individual IT Services will be referred out to other companies.

As a part of this new focus, the Sapphire Solutions web site will change.

Information not related to our new focus, will be moved to my privately owned web site, http://bamajr.com/. Any article which was first published for Sapphire Solutions, then moved to http://bamajr.com/, will still be available under the original publication format. Dates, titles and permalink format will stay in tact. Only the domain will change.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We feel the moving of unrelated articles is an important first step at defining the new focus of Sapphire Solutions. We also feel that without the unrelated articles, the Sapphire Solutions web site will be much more robust and efficient.
